Retrofit Surveys
The funding MEA secured recently from the Energy Redress Fund is for exploring either an archetype approach or community approach to retrofit.
They have limited time and resources, so their goal is to be as efficient and effective as possible. They are testing out whether more retrofit can get done by concentrating activity in particular local ‘hubs’. One hub is in Shrewsbury where there are lots of Victorian terraced homes – the property archetype – concentrated in specific communities such as Cherry Orchard and Castlefields.
Working with a particular property type should mean that the same issues keep coming up – so better solutions can be designed. Working with particular small communities can mean householders are encouraged to share their retrofit journeys – learning from each other as they go.
If you (or someone you know) are fortunate enough to live in one of our hub areas in the designated property type, this is their offer. Householders funding their own retrofit works can benefit from a low cost retrofit assessment and plan, with a thermal imaging survey, and support on their retrofit journey, all for just £100 + VAT.
